Return to Games - Guidance/Overview

  • If you are sick or feel sick, STAY HOME
  • At risk individuals, youth, or adult, STAY HOME
  • Assign a 'station' for each player to place their equipment, and that they should return to during breaks
  • Each player must have their own ball and equipment
  • No one is to share water, towels, or any other equipment. This includes, but not limited to:
  • · Shoes, Socks, or Shin Guards
  • ·       Jersey/Uniform
  • Only coaches should place and pick-up cones
  • ·Practice Vests/Pinnies; At minimum these must be washed after each use.
  •          Recommend issuing each player their individual practice vest
  • No centralized hydration or refreshment stations.
  • Spectators are limited to immediate household members and for the purpose of age-appropriate supervision. Spectators are limited to ensure physical distance can be maintained, reduce potential crowding, and maintain outdoor capacity limits.
  • Recommend having sanitizing options available. This may include:
  • ·       Hand sanitizer
  • ·       Disinfectant wipes to be used to wipe down all equipment
  • Respect for everyone’s choices must be the top priority. If a participant wishes to wear a face mask this should be allowed, and accommodations made if needed
  • Due to the nature and risk of transmission, parents/guardians must have on file with the Region a signed COVID-19 release indicating their understanding and acknowledgement of the risk indicated herein.

Phase I - Return to Games

  • Players are required to wear a mask to their training area and if not participating in drills/scrimmage
  • Coaches are required to wear mask during practice sessions.
  • Player temperature must be taken prior to participation in sessions. Players with a temperature of 100 degrees and above will not be able to attend the session that day.
  • Individual training and technical activities are encouraged
  • Group drills may be increased in size beyond 4v4.
  • Physical contact should be minimized.
  • No more than 16 participants per practice area. Social distancing should be maximized.
  • Spectators should be from the immediate household. Social distancing should be maximized as appropriate and available.
  • Practice times should be set to maximize social distancing.
  • Activities that may create opportunity for an individual to encounter another's equipment are allowed. This would include headers, throw-ins, etc. (Recommend that all equipment be disinfected immediately after all training sessions.)
  • Controlled, short- sided games within each team dynamic are allowed
  • Teams and players must not participate in out-of-state games and tournaments

  • Regular training sessions can be held.
  • Games may be played against Region 85 teams only. Teams cannot play more than one game per day.
  • Teams and players must not participate in out-of-state games and tournaments.
  • Spectators should be from the immediate household, and stay within household groups. Social distancing should be maximized as appropriate and available.
  • For complexes that have multiple fields, adjacent fields may be used at the same time

Phase III - Return to Games

  • Regular training sessions can be held.
  • Games may be played against other teams if they are from the same county. Teams cannot play more than one game per day.
  • Social distancing should be maximized as appropriate and available, especially for spectators.
  • Teams and players should not participate in out of state games or tournaments.
