American Youth Soccer Organization Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.

Region 85 (Lake Forest, Foothill Ranch, Portola Hills)

Our Fall Core program is the foundation for all the fun, excitement and learning that happens on the fields. AYSO is best known for our core program – it’s where the large majority of kids fall in love with soccer and make memories that will last a lifetime.

There are six core values – or what we call AYSO’s Six Philosophies – that are the foundation of our programs: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship and Player Development. These are the essence of AYSO.

In AYSO, teams are put together in a way that makes playing soccer about the experience, not wins or losses. It’s not about blowing out another team with an unbelievable score; it’s about sportsmanship and learning to be the best possible teammate and opponent. Developing players is what we’re about, because soccer skills and life skills go hand in hand. AYSO’s main purpose is to get kids on the field, provide them with great coaches, and teach them to play soccer.

Wait List

It may become necessary to wait list players while we evaluate the number of TOTAL PLAYERS in the division. Additionally, we must ensure that a sufficient number of VOLUNTEERS have agreed to COACH.
If you are willing to volunteer as a coach in a waitlisted division, fill out your volunteer registration for that division and contact us so we can place your child.
Please help us ensure ALL children are placed onto teams by volunteering as a Coach.

Volunteers NEEDED

AYSO Region 85 is a 100% all volunteer organization. We encourage every parent to help in some part of our program. Balanced Teams

In order for players to have the best experience on the field, we do our best to balance teams.

For 6U-7U, our Division Coordinators put teams together based on player information gathered from the registration process and in some instances parent request

For 8U and above our RCA and Division Coordinators, using player rating information and prior coach input, hold 'blind' player drafts to balance teams, as fairly as possible.
